Exclusive Behind the Scenes Look from Daytona
We're back on track this weekend for the start of the 2017 season! To kick things off, Jimmie has a photographer in Daytona to document the start of the quest for #chasing8.
Jimmie’s friend Lyle Owerko is the man behind the lens. His work has graced the cover of TIME, appeared on MTV, and is on permanent display in the Library of Congress. He has directed one of the best from the silver screen - Robert Redford, and now he’s working with one of NASCAR’s best.
The high banks of Daytona are a far cry from his studio in New York City, but he’s not a total greenhorn to racing. He’s been following Jimmie’s career for years now, so his informed perspective has been providing a very unique behind the scenes look at Johnson looks to add a third Harley J. Earl trophy to his collection.
Check out these exclusive images and be sure to follow along on Jimmie’s Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts to see Lyle’s work so far and through the end of the day. Be sure to join the conversation using Jimmie’s new #Chasing8. Check out the story behind the new hashtag here, and tune in to Fox at 1 PM ET today for the 59th Running of the Great American Race.
