This One's for Lowe's
There’s only one facility in the entire world that would be capable of holding every Lowe’s employee: The Indianapolis Motor Speedway. How fitting that Jimmie Johnson and Team Lowe’s Racing should race there this weekend in recognition of the over 265,000 Lowe’s employees nationwide. For the third consecutive year, the No. 48 Chevrolet will trade in its blue duds for a red vest, just like those proudly worn by Lowe’s employees.
The Lowe’s Red Vest Chevy won on debut at Texas Motor Speedway in November 2014.
Last fall in Charlotte, Jimmie was poised to charge for the win when a mechanical failure sidelined the strong effort late in the going.
This year Team Lowe’s takes one of their favorite schemes to one of their favorite tracks, as Johnson seeks to equal Jeff Gordon with a record-tying fifth win at the Brickyard.
Throughout our incredible fifteen year partnership with Lowe’s, Johnson has had the pleasure of meeting countless Team No. 48 supporters sporting a red vest.
The last time Jimmie wore anything red, it was his Superman cape at Fontana earlier this year, and we all remember how that went…
Can “Six-Time” wheel some red back to victory lane? There would be no better way to thank every Lowe’s employee for their amazing support over the last fifteen years. Tune in to NBC Sports Network this Sunday at 3 PM ET to cheer on Team Lowe’s as they sport their red vests for the third time and battle for their third win of 2016.
