This 1,500-acre, $200 million complex has it all 1.5-mile speedway, a 2.5-mile FIA-approved road course, a 4,000-foot drag strip, paved and dirt short tracks, motocross circuits, stadium truck racing facilities, go-kart and Legends cars layouts and a junior drag racing strip. More than 100 VIP boxes overlook the front stretch of the main track, and the Sheep Range mountains loom high beyond the back stretch. The speedway sits 8 miles north of downtown Las Vegas. The decadence and sensory overload that is Vegas, with shows and casinos, saloons and fine restaurants, B-list comics and Elvis impersonators, is a wonderful distraction from the sleepy, small-town Southern roots of the sport. The track added new pavement and higher-banked turns in 2006.
